日本人の眼が捉えたアフリカの角における冷戦の一コマ。植民地支配からの独立を求めるエリトリア解放戦線（EPLF/ELF）は全土の8割を掌握するが、政府軍は旧ソ連及び同盟国の支援を受けて大規模な反撃を開始する。激しい戦闘が繰り広げられたアスマラ近郊の最前線に焦点を当て、解放区の現状と人々の暮らしに迫る。

One testimonial of the cold war in the African continent through the eyes of the Japanese. In late 1970’s, 80% of Eritrea was liberated by EPLF and EFL. In 1978 Ethiopia, supported by USSR and its allies, launched a massive military assault to reoccupy. This film explores the situations and livelihood in the liberated base area, focusing on the front line, environs of Asmara, where the fierce battles raged.
